Step 2: Get curious
These words work best when you apply a little curiosity. Start to pay attention to the words that alter YOU.
Scroll through Twitter or Facebook. Notice the adverts that stand out. Do the same in your inbox, on Pinterest, on posters, buses and trains.
Next time you click on something or register an advert, ask yourself why: what language did THEY use to move you?
Step 3: Store your finds
Start to notice what catches your attention, and squirrel it away in your swipe file.
That place where you keep your marketing inspiration. Don’t have one? Create a folder in your inbox or desktop, use Evernote or another handy app. It doesn’t matter what you use. I have a hard copy folder for my ‘real life’ finds too.
This works on two levels
- The more conscious you become of what works, the more you’re honing your own skills as a marketer.
- And you’re also building a stockpile of genius phrases that are PROVEN to work. Next time you’re stuck you’ll know exactly where to turn.
